Spring Fiesta at Sierra-at-Tahoe is Jam-Packed With Deals And Events

Sierra-at-Tahoe has a jam-packed spring with events for all ages and ability levels. The storms have been stacking up, and to add to the snowfall are several fun and unique events throughout March and April. Their signature Spring Fiesta includes deals, events, spring camps and training sessions.

College week kicks off by offering college students affordable skiing and riding on March 19-23, 26-30 and April 2-6. Enjoy spring break riding spring powder for just $56 a day with a valid college ID card.

Sierra is also hosting a unique snowboard event called Hi-Standard on March 24. It’s a Big Air contest put on by Vans and Pro Tec, which brings snowboarding back to the basics. It's about style, control and creativity rather than a huck-fest.

On March 25, GNU Snowboards and Sierra are offering an all-female snowboard camp for ages 18 and up of all ability levels. Specially trained instructors will offer a fun and exciting experience to improve riding skills and meet new friends in an encouraging and safe environment.

April 7 will be Sierra’s ninth Annual Telegrass Festival, which brings out teleskiers from all over to partake in a celebration of the freeheel lifestyle. There will be morning and afternoon clinics for teleskiers of all ability levels, equipment demos from top manufacturers, relays and races, live music from bluegrass bands, beer tasting and tons of raffle prizes.

Buckle Up Big Air on April 14 is an event for freestyle skiers and snowboarders to showcase their style and raise awareness for seatbelt safety in the memory of Greg Smith, a Sierra Team Member who passed away in a car crash years ago. There will be an outdoor BBQ, live DJ, raffle prizes and the CHP will give a safety message. Proceeds to the event go to the Sierra-at-Tahoe Education Foundation.

Last but not least is the Salsa Showdown on April 15 at the Baja Grill in West Bowl. The first 30 homemade salsa entries will battle it out for a Sierra seasons pass. This is a unique, fun event in true Sierra-at-Tahoe spirit and will also showcase a taco eating contest, a live band, piñatas for the kids. Come out and celebrate the closing to another wonderful season at Sierra.

All of these events are inexpensive, so people on a budget don’t miss out. The events are fun for both the spectator and the participant. Don’t miss out on the exciting Spring Fiesta at Sierra.
