Mad River Mountain, one of the top snowboard areas in the Lower Midwest, is hosting the Yuenling Spring Fling, Saturday, March 10.  It’s one of the larger spring snowsports festivals in the Heartland and this year celebrates the ski area’s 50^th season.

The day features ski races, the always popular pond skimming event, several park events, and live entertainment. The events are free to participate. All you need is a lift ticket or season pass.

The Mad Cardboard Classic Sled Race, a new event, is similar to the Red Bull Sled race of previous seasons. There are numerous categories for sleds built strictly out of cardboard, paint, zip ties, and duct tape. The event will be held on the tubing hill or Regulator.

An all-day adult weekend lift ticket is $45. Juniors (7-12) and seniors (65+) are $35. Get out and enjoy some spring skiing and riding.

Mad River Mountain has been serving Heartland snowsports enthusiasts for over a half-century. The area offers a decent 300-foot drop, 23 trails and three terrain parks.  There are six chairlifts and eight surface tows, including three carpet lifts for beginners, to keep lift-line waits to a minimum. In addition they also have the Avalanche Tubing Park with 10 900-foot lanes.
