WinterPRIDE 2012 comes to Whistler Blackcomb for its 20th anniversary in February. The celebration of the gay and lesbian festival is scheduled for Feb. 5-12, and skiers and snowboarders can get lift and lodging discounts for the event.
The WinterPRIDE ski festival has grown into one of the largest gay and lesbian ski and snowboarder weeks in North America. Non-skiers can join in too, as Whistler offers a multitude of other ways to enjoy winter outdoors, such as tubing, snowcat tours, dogsledding, snowshoeing, ziplining, and snowmobiling.

About 65 events pack WinterPRIDE 2012. The festival includes skiing, snowboarding, après and entertainment, comedy shows, and dance parties. OUTtv, a Canadian cable and satellite television show, is bringing six delegates to WinterPRIDE 2012 to compete for Mr. Gay Canada Feb. 9-11. The festival caps off on the night of Feb. 11 with the Shred Betties Bash for women and the 20th year of the Snowball Dance ‘Til Dawn.
Of course, skiing and snowboarding top the list of daily activities. A host of volunteers will provide mountain tours each day for skiers and snowboarders unfamiliar with Whistler Blackcomb. The mountain tours will break into various groups to accommodate different skill levels.
