A metre of powder falls on The Alps

It's been a long wait, but the snow is finally here, and in abundance: a metre of powder has fallen in The Alps over the last two days.

What's more, the snow isn't showing any signs of stopping - in fact it's forecast to continue until the end of the week. 

So where is the snow? Well ski resorts in Switzerland and Austria have recorded the heaviest dumps so far, but snow reports indicate France will receive heavier snowfalls by the end of the week.

100cm in Warth-Schrocken, Fiesch and Anzere

90cm in Thyon 2000, Nendaz and Flumserberg

80cm in Flims, Laax and Crans Montana

70cm in Leukerbad, Elm and St. Anton am Arlberg

60cm in Saas-Fee and Andermatt

40cm in Val Thorens, La Plagne, Samnaun

30cm in Val d'Isere, Davos, Klosters, Leysin and Ischgl

20cm in Obertauern, Soll, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Gstaad, Tignes

15cm in Meribel, Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl
