Schweitzer Opens this Weekend, Get Discounted Tickets Before Dec. 24

Looking for an easy Christmas present? Check into the Ski-3 tickets available at Idaho's Schweitzer Mountain Resort. Skiers and riders are heading to the resort this weekend for the opening of its lifts.

The Ski-3 ticket packs come in sets of three. They are on-sale for $186 through Dec. 24. That price reflects a $15 discount off the regular $67 adult lift ticket. For college students and seniors, the ticket packs work out to a $5 discount off the regular $57 price at the ticket window.

With no blackout dates, the tickets can be used any day of the season. They are also transferable; they can be split up between family and friends or given away as gifts.

The Ski-3 tickets can work for locals who just ski a few days a year or for visitors. Buying a Ski-3 ticket pack works out to a bigger savings than purchasing a three-out-of-four day lift ticket online.

After the sale, the rate for the Ski-3 ticket pack goes up to $201. That reflects the regular ticket rate of $67 per day.

Schweitzer fired up its snowmaking guns at the beginning of November. Crews began making snow on Midway and Happy Trails and plan to work down the hill from there. Schweitzer credits the early-season opening this year to its snowmaking system, which pumped 3.7 million gallons of water to convert to snow.

The resort opens for skiing and riding this weekend. The Basin Express and Musical Chairs lifts will be operating.

Ski-3 ticket packs can be purchased online here.
