Thanks for this opportunity. Is there, or could there be an avalanche awareness program available on the web? It seems that those on slope programs never match my trips to Utah or Mammoth Mtn Ca. Thanks
Nothing is a substitute for getting out there and doing avi awareness in the snow, we need to know what the snow pack looks like and how to use the gear in a very hands-on practical way. Many resorts now have some sort of education every weekend. Since getting into split board riding I've found a couple of books to be a really great addition to snow education... I'm sure there are other good ones but these are each good their own way.
