I experienced this device during my skiing holidays. The quality is rather disappointing I must say. It took around 5-10 minutes before device got GPS signal. And directions are hard to read in sun circumstances. The housing seems a bit weak. But moreover when I downloaded my recorded routes to my PC I found that complete parts are missing. This might have to do with the GPS receipt. I will sell my device at eBay. Very disappointing and a waiste of my money. Bad device, sorry. Malcolm Marvin Heart.

Watch out with Satski GPS. These Satski guys definetely appear to be hiding something. Go check on the below link:

The Satski team are posting entries to make their product look great. But in reality most objective user entries seem to be very negatively. I am searching internet. And users overall are not very happy. I was considering to buy for next winter. But I changed my mind. I dont want to run the risk of waisting my money!

Strange that Guy and Malcome are the same person on a mission for some reason ?Anyone who had had fun with Satski is a spammer and blogger ! Why dont you contact the company and replace your old unit and get their new unit . Maybe if you had a life you would! I'm a developer at the company and we did have some hardware issues but have invested much to improve this-As you do ! Sorry you so perfect - clearly don't see the point of troling the web to bag a company with a great concept ovbiously opposition and clearly a bit of a coward- we checked to see if either of you have purchased satski units in the last 8 months - strage your names dont come up ! Satski would gladly replace any faulty unit this is our policy. With regard to defending the company - yes we do as we have over thirty thousand users who are happy - but as every one knows happy clients dont normally blog.

This actually seems like it could be a pretty cool app and, I might trial it on a phone but, certainly wouldn't buy a device for it exclusively. Sounds a little like a GPS rangefinder for golf. By the time somebody using one is able to get it to give them the distance to the pin, I've already stepped it off from the nearest marker, picked the right club and, hit my shot. Besides, it just looked like a 6 iron anyway. Skiing, like golf is all about feel and I think too much data would probably get in the way of just enjoying a day on the hill. If my pants start to flap, I'm over 30. If I ski 10 Red Chair runs at Magic, its 17,000 verts. How much more do I need to know? Sometimes analog is perfectly ok. As for buying anything from a business that would allow a defense such as was posted above rather than a professional description of the merits of the product, forget it.

I read somewhere that some one got into a terrible fight with Satski customer support. Seeing the above comment from jcb it looks more like aggressivenes rather than defending. To me this doesn't seem professional. But that is just my personal opinion. I would be a little scared to buy from them myself after reading this. Hmm..

I have read a lot of discussions about hardware reliablity and problems regarding Satski GPS. I personally have no experience with this product. However to all who are considering to purchase a Satski (like me), I would suggest to read the below forum: http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=48595.
How safe is Satski for advance payment credit card transactions and (longer term) service issues? Satski ltd. was dissolved from Companies House Register this year. I think this last fact and the discussion on snowheads forum say important things to make the right decission. The 'behaviour' of their CEO is also described in several forums. Check the whole story out I would personally advise.
