  Yes Custom Foot Beds. These are a must. As stated in the above article a custom footbed will enable you to stand on a completely flat surface. Due to the fact that the ergonomocity of the bed and the flat bottom will enable you to stand on a flat surface.

  I agree totally with getting cudtom footbeds. We bought our sons new ski boots for Christmas had them custom fit with what we thought were custom footbeds. They wore them at the store for a long period of time, tried them out on some local midwest slopes and everything appeared fine. We got out west and it was a different story. The boots were painfully uncomfortable.
  
  Thankfully there was a Surefit nearby and the above referenced method was employed the trip was saved and our sons have boots that comfortably fit and respond correctly. It was costly but worth it.
