I am sorry but, there is no way that Mount Kato is the best ski resort in Minnesota. It is smaller than many other resorts in minnesota like Afton Alps or another such resort and the lessons at Kato are much worse than other resorts near the twin cities. Now Mount Kato isn't a bad ski resort however it doesn't deserve to have the number one rank in minnesota. I know that most of you have never skiied in Minnesota or anywhere near there but, I just wanted to speak my mind.

I haven't been to Lutsen but I am sure it is better, and Giants Ridge is also better (because of The Chute, Alta, 2002, and Helsinki (the 4 best runs)). Mount Kato is one of the better ones though. Yes, Afton is bigger, but it doesn't mean it is better--it has a lot of area but the runs aren't a whole lot longer and they aren't as steep. I would actually put Mount Kato up around Spirit Mountain even though it is smaller because it has steep runs (for the midwest--nothing by mountain standards lol).
