friday and saturday were both great days at sno, however i had a run-in with ski patrol that can possibly jepordize my season.

friday was great, somewhat crowded, but plenty of powder to go around. both the parks were nice but the pipe on mainline is still not finished. the glades were icy and i hit a tree.

saturday was nice, the conditions were a little icy. i skied a really sick line directly under the "shuttle" lift.. i started out by going through the woods to an open area under the lift, then i darted in and out of the woods and flew over some mounds of snow. it was fun. at the end of the run while i was waiting for my friend, ski patrol caught up with me. they threatened to take my season pass on my next offense. i guess i have no other choice but to ski a little more in-bounds and take less risks ;)

white lightning was in amazing condition both days and i met a lot of cool out-of-towners on the lift rides. they were impressed with sno mountain.

the weekend was good but the incident with ski patrol has put a major damper on my season. tomorrow i will be at elk, expect a blog shortly after.

The rules are simple, if they said not to ski there, do not ski there. As to why you should not ski there I have no way of knowing, you will have to take that up with resort management. Could be an evironmental wildlife disturbance thing, or maybe the ski patrol wants to save the powder for themselves. Whatever the reason is is ski patrol said not to ski there or you will lose your pass I would follow thier advice until you hear back from management.

could you please explain to me the difference between in skiing spacious trees on a heavily monitored trail and skiing the tighter, icy, un-patrolled (legal) glades on the far side of the mountain?

there is no arguement to support the statement "follow the rules" in this context
-there is less chance of me getting hurt
-there is a better chance of me getting medical help sooner if i get hurt
-the trail is not as steep as the actual glades
-the woods here are travelled in and out and its just bad luck that i got caught
-i've been skiing for 10 years and i'm in peak physical condition
