We went in early January, after the holidays and midweek so we avoided the crowds in the village and long wait times at the lifts. We stayed on the Blue runs. The Ridge Run was wide and the view of the lake and the Sierra Nevadas is incredibly beautiful. The interior runs were long and beautifully tree lined.
I loved skiing the Sky Line Express run. I know about the complaints from boarders and more advanced skiers that the run is flat but with the length of the run, the feeling that I was skiing right along the edge and the views of Nevada and California the experience was fantastic.

There is plenty of on the mountain eating options. Everybody was friendly from all of the people who worked on the mountain and the village to the fellow skiers and riders.

After we returned I found www.ricardorecommends.com on the web that, I think, would be beneficial for first timers to the mountain who might want to see a more detailed trip report with pictures. Before we left I searched youtube and found videos taken by skiers and riders of some of the runs at Heavenly.
