Well, I've already been on skis almost as much this year as I was all of last season. Spent a couple of days in California skiing with a couple of friends at Sierra Summit and then a day with the wife and kids at Paoli Peaks in Indiana.
California was warm...real warm! I skied without a jacket and with my sleeves pushed up. Great spring-like conditions were prevalent and my only fall (a good one at pretty high speed) netted me a pretty good snow rash. I've never bled before as a result of a ski fall. A little more than a week later my arm has almost healed.
Paoli was frustrating because my son, a good little skier for his age (7) had apparently forgotten everything he ever knew about skiing. I spent a good deal of time fuming at him for "slipping his turns" and not "transferring his weight to the new ski." He was back to his old form by the end of the day.
Plans are set for our annual trip to Utah. A few more trips to Paoli and we'll be all geared up and ready to go!
