Skied again today, January 19th, 2009. Mt. Rose was a bit cool and slightly breezy, and the snow wasn't very good. Hardpack runs, glad I sharpened my edges. I am skiing on my rock skiis at this point, keeping my re-tuned new skiis for the next storm. The coverage was actually pretty good at Mt. Rose, very few rocks, if any. This was my 16th day this season, split between Heavenly and Mt. Rose. I have passes to both. I won free tickets to Sierra-at-Tahoe on Friday, prizes from a local radio program. It is the resort farthest from my home, but hey, free tickets. There is a chance of snow later this week, but not in huge quantities. At this point, anything will help. I am contemplating a trip to Colorado in March. One of the benefits of the Heavenly Pass is that you get half-price tickets at their Colorado resorts. It used to be you got some free days at the Colorado resorts, but it changed to half-price, which is still better than nothing. So I think I will take a trip, fly to Denver, rent a car and ski the resorts alon I-70.
