This is MY opinion
Skiing is more for the people that want to go fast
like riding in high Alpine
and like hitting the big jumps(not that you can't do any of these things snowboarding)
There is also X-country skiing which is like skiing uphill, which some people enjoy
Telemark skiing or "Free-heel" skiing which provides a new challenge to the regular downhill skiing
Alpine Skiing/Freestyle brings the adrenaline rush to the sport
Adaptive skiing is for people with disabilties that love to ski
Para-skiing is the ULTIMATE ADRENALINE RUSH actually flying while skiing

Snowboarding brings on the syle!!!
Allowing people to pull grabs tricks off of gnarly jumps or even ride in a half-pipe (can do in skiing)
you can even do clean flatland like skateboarding or grind rails]
and you can also go pretty fast in snowboards just like skiing and also do slalom like skiing
If you like doing freestyle i would recommend snowboarding
