Just returned from early 2007/2008 season skiing at Loon this week - had a fantastic time. Conditions were excellent, as Jay and I arrived on the tail end of a early season storm that blanketed the area with 10+ inches.

I took a personal day from work on Tuesday, which meant few people on the trails and no lift lines, uncommon at Loon which sees heavy weekend commuter traffic from Boston.

Loon had the snow guns out on most of the closed slopes, but based on the amount natural combined with man-made, a significant amount of terrain open by the weekend.

All that said, I returned to work the next day with sore legs and a bit depressed. It's hard to concentration in a windowsless office heated by a noisy space heater updating PRDS over small nits after a fantastic day of "being in the now", with no worries of work, family, bills, etc.

Perhaps I need to re-evaluate the bank of sick days I have in place. I think I feel a cold coming on that requires at least a day of fresh air.....
