The Ski Tour, which is hoping to become the official U.S. Olympic qualifier for skiercross for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, has collected some of the biggest names in freeskiing - Tanner Hall, Shaun Palmer, Casey Puckett, Simon Dumont, Daron Rahlves et al – to partake in halfpipe and skiercross competitions. After stops in Sun Valley, Breckenridge and Aspen, who gets the lion's share of the Ski Tour's half-million dollar purse will be determined. And the wrap-up show at Squaw should live up to the Tour's billing – The Wailers and George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars will among the musical talent. There also will be other diversions, such as a film festival both Friday and Saturday nights, and ice-carving demos the entire weekend.
