Nordic Combined is Nordic skiing combined with ski jumping off of the huge jumps (remember Eddie, the Eagle?). Men can do it, but the Olympic Committee won't allow the women to participate. An international petition has started. You can sign your name and add comments if you'd like at www.wsj2010.com (Women's Ski Jumping 2010). Steamboat's Howelsen Hill is world-renowned for its Nordic jumps, and Nordic jumpers. A dozen local girls are in Nordic Combined, with 20 more younger girls in the "Little Vikings" program, which also involves jumping.
