SolVista hosts a family tradition for locals and visitors alike. Grand County community members, employees, and guests all head to the Base Camp Lodge on New Year's Eve. The fun starts at 4 p.m. when kids sign up for the torchlight parade. They each get a glow stick or glow necklace along with lineup and skiing instructions.
The SolVista Ski Patrol takes the kids up the slopes and gets them in line to ski down for the parade at 5:30 p.m.. A patroller then leads the kids down the mountain, slowing winding their way with glow sticks in hand, or around their neck. As the kids pass the halfway point, the ski patrol lights their red torches and continues down the path. Everyone ends up at the bottom for hot chocolate and drinks followed by a tremendous fireworks show at about 6:30.
The fun is then at the firepit, as the happy crowds enjoy singing, and a Rocky Mountain night under the stars. Many end the evening at the Seven Trails Grille in the Base Camp Lodge. Reservations are recommended.
SolVista promises fun for everyone. They even offer the Guaranteed Smiles Program, which ensures you and your family the best on-snow experience ever.
