Family fun, gourmet feasts, live music, and dancing are just some of the fun activities you'll find in Aspen and Snowmass.

The Artisan Handcrafted Cuisine and Sage Restaurant and Bar offer epicurean menus, intimate settings, and a romantic opportunity to ring in the New Year in Snowmass. The Silvertree Hotel hosts its 19th annual New Year's Eve Gala Celebration with a gourmet dinner, music, dancing, and a balloon drop. That's where hundreds of balloons are dropped from the ceiling at midnight.

Family activities start at 5 p.m. at Wagner Park in Aspen. There is free ice skating at the same time at Silver Circle Ice Rink downtown. The Hotel Jerome has a big dinner celebration 6 to 11 p.m. called "Good Riddance to 2009." Irish Tenor Ronan Tynan will perform that night at the Wheeler Opera House. The evening is rounded out with a bonfire and DJ at Wagner Park and fireworks at Aspen Mountain, from 8 p.m. until midnight.

Dinner reservations are highly recommended if you plan to spend your holidays in Aspen or Snowmass. Restaurants offer special deals and menus, but you'll need to get your name in to get a table. Check with your local concierge to find something that fits your style, whether you are dining as a couple, or with a family.
