Arizona's Sunrise Ski Park has been racking up days of powder skiing. But after two feet fell Feb. 4, the access road between McNary and Greer became impassable, preventing Sunrise from opening the following morning. Glum skiers and snowboarders who couldn't get to the powder watched for reports of the road's reopening. Road crews expected to have the route reopened by the end of Tuesday. With more storms on the way, waist deep powder may greet skiers when the lifts turn again.
Sunrise also closed down their Rustler Lift for repairs. But runs are still open on Sunrise Peak and accessed via the Sunrise Quad.
