Sauze d'Oulx has installed a new chairlift to drastically shorten queues in time for this winter season.
The new chairlift will link the back bowl area of Sauze to the top of Fraiteve. This will enable skiers and boarders to get to Sansicario and beyond without having to rely on the Rio Nero draglift.
The Rio Nero drag used to be the only link from the bottom of the bowl back to Sauze and suffered from long queues at the end of the day. The new chairlift will not only offer a more comfortable option, but it is also expected to make a significant difference in shortening queuing times.
Skiers and snowboarders can take in the panoramic views beyond the Milky Way ski area as far as Briancon from the top of the new lift,
Sauze d'Oulx is one of the resorts making up the 400-kilometre lift-linked Via Lattea (Milky Way) ski area. Sauze, "the Ibiza of the Alps,'" is renowned for its lively après-ski scene and is one of the larger, more popular resorts of the area offering a wide choice of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs.
All levels of skiers and snowboarder are well catered for with access to more than 400 kilometres of pistes. Snowboarding is increasingly popular here. There are also English-speaking ski and snowboard schools and ski/board hire shops.
Sauze d'Oulx is easily accessible: one hour from Turin Airport and 30 minutes from Oulx train station.
