Granite Peak, Wisconsin's largest ski area with a 700-foot vertical drop and over 70 runs, is getting in the holiday spirit starting with the Spirit of Christmas Week, Dec. 12-18. Bring an unwrapped gift for a needy child and receive $5 off your lift ticket. Santa will be visiting the Peak 1 to 4 p.m. daily and will have a few of his reindeer with him. Is it true that reindeer learn to ski before they learn to fly?
Christmas comes early the week of Dec. 19-25. Skip the last-minute shopping and spend quality family time on the slopes. Fireworks, wagon rides, nightly bonfires, and live music will be taking place throughout the week. There will be special $65 ski or snowboard lessons, two full days 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., for ages 8 and up. Registration is required.
There's a Pre-Holiday College Special, 2 for 1 lift ticket, but you must present your current college ID. Saturday night lift tickets are $15 for skiing or riding 4 to 9 p.m. There will be live entertainment in the historic chalet 2 to 10 p.m. Dec. 23.
You can ski or ride free Christmas Eve day or Christmas day when you purchase a three-day lift ticket Dec. 21-28. The free day is your fourth day, either Dec. 24 or 25. The Peak will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Christmas Day.
