Christmas in the Tetons means skiing and riding with the craggy tooth of the Grand Teton in view. Top the skiing off with sleigh rides and holiday events to fill out the Christmas holidays.

Those looking for early holiday deals can ski free through Christmas Day at Jackson Hole with a Teton Mountain Lodge package. The Early Season Ski Free package, which costs $99 per person per night, includes four nights lodging in an Alpine Studio or Lodge Room and three days of lift tickets for two people at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Rates are based on double occupancy for a four-night minimum stay in the four diamond-rated luxury lodge and spa. Non-refundable pre-payment is required. Pricing for additional adults or children is also available.

Those vacationing early can enjoy the Village Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony Dec. 19 in Teton Village. The event also offers free ice skating, holiday music, hot chocolate, and the required visit from Santa.

Most resorts charge premium rates during the holidays. But not Grand Targhee. The Wyoming resort is running a holiday special. You can save 50 percent off the sixth and sevenths nights of your on-mountain stay during the Christmas holidays between Dec. 24 and Jan. 2. (The first five nights are at regular rates.)

Kids 12 years old and under also get a break from their $19 lift ticket on Christmas Day. Kids under six years old are always free, but on Christmas Day children six through 12 years old also ski free.
