Enjoy the magic of Aspen over the holidays. The Aspen Chamber Resort Association is hosting the 12 Days of Aspen, with new, free, and nearly free events and activities.
The fun starts Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. with free ice skating, pizza, and a DJ at the Silver Circle Ice Rink in downtown Aspen. Noel Nights continues that afternoon at Aspen Highlands Village. The Wheeler Opera House hosts Irving Berlin's White Christmas that night and for the following three nights.
The Aspen Dickens Carolers sing throughout the holidays in Aspen. There's Cupcake Decorating, Teddy Bear Story Hour, Skiing with Santa, caroling, sleigh rides, concerts, and comedy. Holiday activities are throughout Aspen, and Aspen Highlands, from Dec. 20-31, and guaranteed to keep the grouchiest Scrooge happy.
Aspen High School's District Theatre hosts The Nutcracker Dec. 5-6. A Hanukkah Dinner & Menorah Lighting is at the Hotel Jerome Dec. 11.
[R25R, Snowmass] is around the corner from Aspen and celebrating just about as much. The North Pole comes to the Snowmass mall and base village Dec. 21-24. Take free photos with Santa throughout the week. Kids can mail letters to Santa in his personal mailbox at the end of the mall. Selected letters are published in The Snowmass Sun. The Torchlight Parade is Dec. 23 at 5:15 p.m., down the slopes of Snowmass. Adults and kids ages eight and up are invited to take part in the trail of lights down Fanny Hill. Santa Claus leads the parade.
