The slopes of Winter Park will light up Christmas Eve with the traditional torchlight parade down the face of the mountain. The fun starts with Christmas carols around the bonfire at the base of the resort, next to the Zephyr lift. The torchlight skiers are expected to begin their descent around 5:30 p.m., down the Lower Hughes trail. They'll be followed by a skiing Santa Claus and his helpers.
A spectacular fireworks display and Christmas-decorated snowcats will light up the slopes in a Christmas tree formation, to conclude the festivities.
Everyone is then invited to attend the Christmas Eve interdenominational services at Winter Park, which start at 6:30 p.m., in the lower level of the Balcony House. The Catholic Church services are in the West Portal, Level 4. The services should last about an hour. All of the Christmas Eve activities at Winter Park are free.
