Mt. Rose is in full swing, running its lifts daily. But Mt. Rose is one ski area that you don't have to pay full lift ticket rates, for discounted lift tickets are available almost every day of the week.

Bonus Monday tickets can extend a weekend of skiing or riding. Just show a lift ticket from the previous Saturday or Sunday to purchase a full day lift ticket for Monday for $29. The ticket office also sells 2-fer Tuesday lift tickets: You can buy two full day lift tickets for the price of one.

Lift tickets on Wednesdays are available at $35 for select ages. Students can purchase a $35 lift ticket with a valid student ID, and so can skiers and riders age 50 and older with an ID that includes proof of age. Ladies can also buy full day lift tickets for $35 on Thursdays.

Other midweek discounts go to college students and season passholders from other resorts. College students can purchase full day tickets for $20 off, and season passholders from other resorts can ski for $45.

These discounts are available all season long with the exception of holiday periods: Dec. 19 - Jan. 3, Jan 16-18, and Feb. 13-15.

Two other discounts are also available all year long including holidays. The $130 Weekend Extender is a three-day consecutive ticket for Fridays through Sundays or Saturdays through Mondays. The Runs 'n Roses, which is available also at $130 but any day of the week, is a family package for two adults and two children ages 12 and younger.
