Nestled at 1840 metres in the Celliers Valley, Valmorel, the peaceful mountain refuge of Le Logis des Fées offers a stress-free stay surrounded by nature.

No cars and no lifts are to be found near the refuge. The only way to get there is by strapping on backcountry skis or snowshoes. During a trek of one to two hours, visitors will be surrounded by untouched nature and perhaps a few animals-eagles, foxes, chamois-will be there to keep you company on your way.

Emmanuel Ledoux, guardian of Le Logis des Fées and your host, built the house with his own hands. It took him 10 years and he was determined to use only renewable energy sources to turn the house into a home. He was successful. Today, we find all the modern amenities - hot running water, showers, hand basins, a dishwasher, a stove for cooking and heating and a shared WC - thanks to solar panels, a hydroelectric pump, and wood from neighbouring forests.

For €30 per person (half-board) or €39 (full-board), you can spend a night in this idyllic refuge and enjoy nature's beauty.

The ski area of Valmoral is set between 1400 metres and 2832 metres altitude and offers trails for all levels of skier and snowboarder.
