Sunday River's 10th annual Santa Sunday is set for Dec. 6.

The annual event kicks off winter while raising money for toys for kids in the Bethel, Maine, area.

Online registration opens at noon Nov. 29.

It is a great deal, for a great purpose, and also seems like a great deal of fun. Santas ski free Sunday Dec. 6, and receive two additional free lift tickets good for skiing through Dec. 18.

Caveats: The lift ticket given out at registration in the morning is only valid until 11 a.m. Show up at the photo shoot at 11 a.m. in Santa garb for a 45-minute session. That day's ticket is extended and two additional tickets valid through Dec. 18 are issued at the end of the session.

Rules:  Participants must arrive at South Ridge wearing all of the following items: one red Santa hat including a white pompom, one red Santa jacket, one pair of red Santa pants, a Santa beard, and a $10 (or more) cash donation for the Bethel Rotary Club's annual drive to provide gifts for the area's needy children.

A Santa Party begins at 7 p.m. at the Foggy Goggle.
