The Calgary SnowFest has made a leap across town to a new location. The annual ski and snowboard show happens this year at Canada Olympic Park Nov. 4-6. While the show features the annual swap and ski resort booths, it is also adding new family-friendly activities.

Snow shows are about getting deals on gear and checking out travel deals from the resorts. The Calgary show is no different. The Southern Alberta Ski and Board Swap offers discounts on non-current and used equipment. You can also talk to representatives from Canadian resorts such as Big White, Kicking Horse, Lake Louise, Mt. Norquay, Nakiska, Panorama Mountain, Red Mountain, Fernie, Kimberley, Revelstoke, Sunshine Village, Whitewater Ski Resort and a handful of U.S. resorts.

The show is adding new activities this year, including the Sneak-A-Peek on Nov. 4. You can get first dibs at the swap and then join the after-party starting at 8 p.m. in the Main Plaza for a bonfire, movie premiere, fire and magic show, and a beer garden.

Saturday begins with a flapjacks and sausage breakfast. It’s free with your admission ticket. You can pick up season passes at the Ski Pass Junction or watch a rail jam and big air bag jumps.

Sunday features family-friendly activities. The day starts with a pancake breakfast for kids presented by Castle Mountain. Join in a free family skating session from noon to 2:15 p.m. in Arena B, or head to the jump house and face painting.

Prizes will be given away at the show. Sunshine Village will give away one Sunshine Village Family Pass valid for unlimited skiing all season and three nights at Sunshine Mountain Lodge for two people with next day skiing or riding and breakfast. More prizes will be presented from Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, Lake Louise, Mt. Norquay and WinSport Canada.
