It's all powder and backcountry at Mt. Bohemia.

At A Glance

Mount Bohemia, a Great Lakes version of Jackson Hole, has one of the best single-day season pass sales in the Heartland.  The pass is $99 for the season, no blackouts, and can only be purchased Dec. 5 - no other day.  You can purchase it by logging onto the link below or by calling the listed number.  The normal daily lift rate this season will be $49 for all ages.  You do the math.

Bohemia is located at the tip of the UP's Kewanee Peninsula, that witch-like finger jutting out in the middle of Lake Superior.  That almost always insures incredible amounts of annual lake effect snowfall; typically around 270 to 300 inches a winter. This hidden secret is a true treasure for backcountry skiers and riders.  It's a 900-foot vertical drop with cliffs, chutes, trees, steep drops, and it's all natural snow.  Bohemia is maybe one of a handful of ski areas in the Lower 48 that doesn't have snowmaking, and they don't do any grooming.

Bohemia claims all expert terrain and, they aren't exaggerating. The terrain is typical of what you would find out west.  It truly is a unique experience.  There is nothing else even remotely like it mid-continent. Two chairlifts whisk you back to the top to find another line through the trees.

It's a long drive from just about anywhere in the Heartland, but, if you like backcountry and true powder skiing, there's nothing to compare.  The pass is a great bargain.  You've paid for the pass If you make the trip for one weekend this winter.  Additional days are all bonus.
