Breckenridge opens for the 2009-2010 season.

At A Glance

More than 3,000 hot pancakes and waffles greeted skiers and riders at Breckenridge on the first day of the season. The mountain opened with 108 acres on four runs, serviced by the Colorado SuperChair, 5 Chair, and Rip's Ride (previously Chair 7) on Peak 8.

Breckenridge has a new parking situation this year. Parking in the gondola lots during the week (Monday through Thursday) is $5 and during the weekends (Friday through Sunday) and holidays, it is $10. The Beaver Run lot is $15.

The parking deal gets even better if you are carpooling. The price goes down if you have four or more people in your car. Gondola lots are free during the week and $5 on the weekends. The Beaver Run lot would then be $10 for carpoolers.

Parking passes are another option. An unlimited parking pass is $149 for the season. A pre-paid 10-pack is $60 and a pre-paid five pack is $35. You can get the parking passes at the season ticket office.

Breckenridge hasn't always been a ski town. It began as a mining town about 150 years ago an evolved into a very popular spot to take some runs, do some shopping, and have a great meal at one of the 80 restaurants and bars in town. The mountain has 29 lifts and 2,358 skiable acres.
