Crans Montana has made significant improvements both on and off the slopes this winter. Visitors will enjoy new ski lifts, a wider choice of winter activities, and more shops, restaurants, and hotels.
The resort has invested its beginners' ski area with two ski tows and a mini conveyer belt. This development will be of particular interest to families; Crans Montana's already holds the ‘Families Welcome' label.
The Guides' Office opened in summer 2009 and offers several winter activities, including heliskiing, off-piste or freeriding, and avalanche lessons.
Also opening its doors for the first time this winter is the Chetzeron mountain restaurant. Its dining room has 50 seats, a lounge bar, fireplace, and sun terrace for 100 people. High quality Alpine meals are served here accompanied by a fine wine menu and panoramic views.
Crans Montana has introduced new village amenities too, with the five-star Guarda Golf hotel and Patrick Saegesser's designer jewellery shop.
Crans Montana kicks off the season Nov. 21 to April 18 and is one of the first to open its doors each winter. The ski area ranges from 1500m right up to the glacier at 3000m, and features 140 kilometres of pistes linked by 28 lifts. Snowboarders can practise tricks on the 50,000-square-metre snowpark while cross-country skiers hit the 35 kilometres of trails.
