Purchase a season pass at either area and you qualify for a $99 Co-Op at the other. Giants Ridge is located along The Gopher State's Iron Range about an hour northwest of Spirit in Duluth. Both offer a good variety of Midwest terrain.
A Spirit introductory "First Timer" season pass is available for $139 through October. An unlimited season pass is currently $179 and a College Student Pass is $109. All will be going up Nov. 1, and the College Student Pass will no longer be available. Giants Ridge "early bird" season pass rates are also good through the end of the month. An adult (13+) unlimited pass is currently $215, a children's (seven to 12) pass is $115, and a College Student pass is $169. All passes go up in November. Follow this link for more information.
Spirit Mountain offers a big 700-foot vertical drop and jaw-dropping views of the city and its Lake Superior harbor. With 22 downhill runs, one of the Midwest's largest terrain parks, and 22 km of Nordic ski trails, there is definitely something for everyone.
Giants Ridge, near Biwabik, is perched on a 550-foot ski hill in the middle of the Iron Range. On a sunny day the view seems to stretch as far north as Hudson Bay. It offers 35 slopes, two terrain parks and a world-class cross country trail system that the U.S. Nordic Team has trained on.
