Once again the U.S. National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum (that's a mouthful) is offering the Ski Michigan Gold Card in a very limited run.  The card is $500 and entitles the holder to ski, ride, or stride all season long at 17 of the Wolverine State's top ski areas.  There are no restrictions on when you can use it, and the Gold Card is fully transferable.  You can share it with family, friends, customers, and clients.  The card can be used once per day at any participating resort.

It's a pretty sweet deal if you or your friends and relatives are avid skiers or riders.  It doesn't take long to run through half-a-grand at today's lift ticket prices. But don't think about it long. They only print 50 of the cards each year.

A complete list of participating ski areas can be found online by clicking on the link below where you also can order the card.  The list includes some of the state's larger ski resorts:  Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain, Crystal Mountain, and Shanty Creek are among Lower Michigan resorts; Indianhead, Marquette Mountain, and Ski Brule are some of the UP ski areas included.  The entire state is well represented.

The Ski and Snowboard Hall, located in Ishpeming, Mich., is the only national hall of fame dedicated exclusively to skiing and snowboarding in America. It provides lasting recognition for American skiers and snowboarders who excelled nationally and internationally as either competitors or contributors to the advancement of snow sports in all forms.  Proceeds from the sale of the Gold Cards helps preserve our heritage.
