Devil's Head Resort, Wisconsin's largest full-service snow sports resort, is planning, weather permitting, to open for the season Friday, Nov. 27, and is offering some pretty attractive pricing on lift tickets and lodging.  Eat the bird at home, and head to the Head to burn off calories.

All lift tickets will be half-price and rooms will be $50 through Thanksgiving Weekend.  Depending on the size of the room, you can sleep at least four and possibly six people; a pretty good deal per person.  Quite a few runs were ready for opening weekend last year.

The 'Head is a full-service resort with slopeside lodging and one of the finest collections of blue runs in the Heartland.  The 28 runs are long, impeccably groomed, and boast a nice pitch and roll.  There are  four terrain parks for snowboarders, including an easy starter park, and for those that like some steep, there's Devil's Alley and Outer Limits which cut through cliffs, and provide a good fall-line. Ten chairlifts and six surface tows keep skiers and riders moving up the hill with minimal wait time.

Beginners and lower-intermediate skiers have their own area on top of the ski hill in a gentle, meadow.  It takes two lifts to get to the top of the Meadows, but than it's a mile-and-a-half of easy skiing back to the bottom.  Arguably, it's one of the best beginner runs in the Great Lakes Region, and certainly the longest.

They created a new run left of Cyclops, looking uphill, and extended Devil's Air Park all the way to the bottom.  It makes a sweet run with plenty of opportunity to get some big air time.
