Thanksgiving at Silver Mountain, Idaho, comes with the traditional turkey, plus water - both the liquid and frozen type. The resort's waterpark is open year round, and the resort plans to open for skiing and snowboarding over the holiday weekend.

Silver Mountain is offering a Thanksgiving package where you can stay two nights and receive half-off the third night. Accommodations are in the Morning Star Lodge, which features a variety of condominiums that sleep two to eight people in the Gondola Village. The lodge also offers public Internet access, a fitness center, hot tubs, and ski or snowboard storage.

Morning Star Lodge condos also come with fully-equipped kitchens. You can cook the holiday turkey in your own condo, or head out to dinner. Noah's Canteen, located in the village, serves up the traditional turkey, gravy, and trimmings.

Follow Thanksgiving Day with activities at the resort. Silver Mountain anticipates opening for skiing and snowboarding Nov. 27, and the annual Village Lighting Ceremony welcomes Santa Claus to town on Saturday.

Silver Mountain is also home to Silver Rapids Indoor Waterpark, which is open Wednesday through Sunday over Thanksgiving weekend. The waterpark features floating the North Fork Lazy River, splashing in the Cub Cove, and surfing the FlowRider Wave. The whole family can ride the Moose Sluice on a six-foot raft, or dive down the Gold Rush or Prospector Plunge tubes.

Reservations can be made by phone or online.
