Snow King Resort in Jackson is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Brunch, even though the resort won't open for skiing until early December. The feast, which takes place in the Atrium Restaurant on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, spreads the buffet with traditional turkey and trimmings, plus extras.
Kick off the four-course meal with appetizers such as shrimp with cocktail sauce and lemons or clams casino with garlic butter and bacon. Fish hors d'oeuvres include pickled herring, smoked trout dip, and smoked salmon served with assorted bread. The antipasto spread includes marinated grilled vegetables, smoked mozzarella, salami, artichokes, and kalamata olives while the cheese tray sides with crackers and French baguette.
The menu also holds three salads: a spring mix with dried cranberries, toasted walnuts, English cucumber, and pear tomatoes served with cranberry vinaigrette or Greek feta dressing, a sweet potato salad with dried cranberries in a brown sugar clove sauce, and a roasted vegetable salad with zucchini, yellow squash, red bell pepper, artichokes, and kalamata olives.
A baked halibut entrée is available, but the meal centers around the carving table with roast turkey topped with gravy, prime rib, and venison with mushroom sauce. Traditional Thanksgiving sides line the buffet, too, with cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, and sweet potatoes.
The brunch, which also include desserts, runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It costs $29 for adults and $15 for children under 12 years old. Reservations are highly recommended.
Snow King opens for its 70th year of skiing Dec. 5.
