Cost Saving Swaps Abound In Pennsylvania During November

Swaps and sales abound nearly every weekend with Roundtop's Nov. 7-8, 2009. Tussey and Big Bear are not far behind.   

Tussey Mountain, near State College, organizes a three-day swap Nov. 13 - 15 right at the lodge. Hours are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Skis, boards, and accessories are now being accepted.  

Big Bear, in Laxawaxen, holds its annual event 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21-22 in the Lower Commons, Masthorpe Lodge. It is hosted by the Ski Big Bear Ski Committee and 10 per cent of all sales are being donated to the Lackawana Township Volunteer Ambulance group.  The swap is held in conjunction with Guenther's Ski Haus sale that offers new and nearly new products including skis, boards, bindings, boots, and clothing.

Consumers interested in dropping off used equipment can do so Saturday and up to 11 a.m. Sunday. All unsold items must be picked up by 5 p.m. Nov. 22. Unclaimed items will be disposed of at the discretion of the swap organizing committee.
