One thing you can count on from Nub's Nob, in addition to always great conditions, is that they will make improvements each season.  They are constantly tweaking and improving their nationally recognized terrain park, and that's one of the reasons they are the only Heartland ski area to ever have received a national ranking in the past, and guess what? 

They've done it again.

The Nob's Superpipe was recently ranked among the Top 5 Pipes in the East in the 2009 Transworld Snowboarding magazine survey.  This marks the second time their terrain park and pipes have been ranked by a national snowsports publication, a feat no other Midwestern resort has done once. 

That pride carries over to Nub's terrain park skiers who performed well in the USASA halfpipe ski competition last April at Colorado's Copper Mountain.  Rockwell Nixon, who lives in nearby Petoskey, and a frequent skier at the Nob, won the Junior Men's Division halfpipe ski competition for the 16-19 age group.

Other Nub's skiers also placed well.  Cam Wilcox, placed fifth in the same age group, and Durand Nixon placed ninth in the 11-15 age group; both are from Petoskey.  Hunter Arbaugh, from Harbor Springs, placed 13th in the 11-15 group.  Kudos to all for a job well done.  It's a great honor for the resort, and all those that ride and ski in northern Michigan and throughout the Heartland.
