Got a pile of buddies in your dorm looking for an inexpensive way to ski or ride this winter at Lake Tahoe? Alpine Meadows and Homewood may have the answer. The pair of west Tahoe ski resorts is offering a new joint group season pass for college students.
The new group season pass just needs a ringleader to lasso 12 buddies to buy season passes. The leader in return gets the 13th season pass free.
The passes cost $299 per person, which is paid off in six days of skiing or riding. The passes are valid at both resorts except Dec. 26-Jan. 2, Jan. 16-17, and Feb. 13-14.
Begin the application process by filling out the group order form, which is available online. Then, corral the buddies to fill out their applications for season passes. The resorts prefer one payment to cover all group members, but individual applications and payments will be accepted. All applications for the group must be turned in together to qualify for the special pricing.
College students must carry nine credits to qualify for the program. A driver's license or ID and proof of credits for fall 2009 must be shown to receive passes.
The Alpine Homewood College Group Season Pass is available until Dec. 1. Partial groups are not eligible for this rate.
