Washington's Crystal Mountain offers a way to save a few dollars on lift tickets. The resort's discount ticket books knock $5 off each adult lift ticket.

Discount ticket books cost $275. Each contains five vouchers for adult all day lift tickets. The vouchers must be used during the 2009-10 season, and because the tickets are transferable, you can even share a book with friends or give the vouchers away as gifts.

The discount ticket books are available for purchase online. Those bought online will arrive via mail.

The books are not available for purchase at the ski resort, but can be bought at one of several greater Puget Sound locations. They are available at two Sturtevant's locations, seven Sports Authority shops, six REI stores, Alpine Experience, two Northwest Snowboards locations, and the Rainier Boardshop. Call the shops ahead of time to be sure they have the discount ticket books in stock.

Crystal's discount ticket books are on sale until Dec. 31. The resort typically opens for skiing and snowboarding in mid-November, but check the snow report online for announcements on a pending opening day.

Daily adult lift tickets at Crystal Mountain cost $60. Youths ages 11-17 can purchase lift tickets for $55. Kids 10 years old and under will ski free at Crystal Mountain this year.
