Families get some deals on season passes at Crested Butte. Receive one free child or young adult pass with every adult full season pass purchased. It's good on a Platinum or Gold Pass, and a pass of the same type for that adult's legal dependent child, age 17 and under. Families can also fly a family member in free, as every third airline ticket is on Crested Butte, when you book your trip through Crested Butte Vacations.

Platinum passes are good for winter and summer, with unlimited skiing and riding and no blackout dates. Gold passes are the same, but only good in the winter. It is a $75 price difference. Bronze passes get a bit cheaper, but have blackout dates during peak periods.

The Family Value Package for the Platinum Pass is $1349. The Family Value Package for the Gold Pass is $1274.

Another option at Crested Butte is the Mountain Card. Fifteen days of skiing will cost you $925. Ten days costs $780. There are no blackout dates on either. The EZ Pass for $625 gets you one day of skiing a week. Crested Butte also has college pass options available.

Then there's always the CB Card, which costs $45. It gets guests 25 percent off adult single-day lift tickets and it includes one free day of skiing during the 2009-10 season, with no blackouts.

The ski season at Crested Butte is set for Nov. 25 through April 4, 2010. Passes are not transferable, not refundable, and may not be rolled over to another season. Any Crested Butte passholder receives 15 percent off lodging through Crested Butte Vacations.

    The Crested Butte EZ pass looks legit for locals with kids and work priority. One good day of skiing per week for pennies. Good opportunity to show your kids or grand kids that you still got it. Affordable fun for all, pick you day and play.
