The base of Snowmass has a huge new addition with the Viceroy Snowmass, scheduled to open Nov. 25, 2009 for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Certificate of Occupancy was just issued, so it's almost ready to go. Final touches are being made. It is ski-in, ski-out, and the signature hotel of Snowmass' new Base Village. There are 173 guest rooms and residences from studios to four-bedroom condominiums which are also for sale.

The Viceroy will have all of the amenities of a high-end hotel with restaurants, ski valet services, après-ski bar and lounges, a full-service spa, fitness room, pool and pool café, and 9,000 square feet of conference and event space. Campbell Levy with the Viceroy says it means a lot to Snowmass. "It marks a lot of exciting firsts, including the first luxury boutique resort, one of North America's first LEED silver-certified resorts, and the first spa resort. Most importantly, it is a fitting social hub to the town and its locals."

The Viceroy will offer family and kids' programming. It sits across from the 25,000 square foot, state-of-the-art Treehouse Kids' Adventure Center at Snowmass.

Reservations are being accepted for the winter season. Rates start at $370 a night. A special deal is being offered for those who book a night following the opening through Dec. 23. Guests who reserve one night will receive an addition night at 50 percent off.  Snowmass is scheduled to open Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.
