It's hard enough to get yourself to the hill, let alone your kids. Get them out with Ski Utah's Fifth Grade Passport program. The Pass rides to the rescue again this season by giving kids three free days of skiing at each Utah's 13 participating resorts. That's 39 days of skiing and snowboarding for a $25 processing fee.

Kids can keep skiing for free after fifth grade as well with the Ski Utah Sixth Grade SnowPass. The SnowPass gets them one day free at each of Utah's 13 participating resorts. That's 13 days of skiing and snowboarding after the $20 processing fee.

Each year 8,000 Utah students participate in the Ski Utah Passport and SnowPass programs. Consider this if you're thinking that your kid's better off not learning to ski: Lack of physical activity leads to overweight children and adolescents. Get them off the couch this winter.

The Passport and SnowPass not only include free lift tickets, but they also include special deals on equipment rentals, lessons, and other activities for the whole family. The Passport and SnowPass are valid during the 2009-10 ski season except some blackout dates at some resorts. The cards will be mailed after mid-November 2009. Allow two-to-three weeks for delivery.
