Sunshine Village and Marmot Basin share more than locations in Canadian national parks. They partner up with the Sunshine Marmot Card that offers purchasers a way to get discounted lift tickets for skiing and riding in both Banff and Jasper National Parks.

The discount card works best for those who want to ski or ride several times during the season, but won't get the use out of a season pass. The card, which costs $84.95, includes several free days of lift tickets. Cardholders can get the first, third and seventh days of skiing free, no matter whether they are visiting Sunshine or Marmot.

Tickets on the other days can be purchased at a discount with the card. The discounts run $13 to $26 off the daily price at the resorts' ticket windows.

The Sunshine Marmot Card comes in a direct-to-lift version, which allows cardholders to skip the line at the ticket window and go straight to the lifts. Credit cards are charged when the discount card is scanned at the lift.

Other discounts are also available for Sunshine Marmot cardholders. Those discounts are available at the ski and snowboard schools, rental shops, retail shops and restaurants and bars at both resorts. Discounts are also granted to cardholders at retail shops and hotels in the Banff and Jasper areas.

A new perk was added this year for those buyng the direct-to-lift card. Cardholders can save $50 per person on any midweek stay or $100 per person on Friday and Saturday nights at Sunshine Mountain Lodge. The lodge is the only hotel at Sunshine Village, and the discount is available for the whole season.
