Parent's magazine, which has been serving families for over 80 years, recently identified Michigan's Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa as one of the "Ten Best Winter Resorts for Families" in its November issue.
It was the only Heartland resort selected to the list which included, among other resorts, Beaver Creek, Telluride, and Park City. That's pretty heady company. The magazine said they evaluated family activities on site, quality of ski lessons for young children, standard room size and amenities, child care services, kids' clubs and supervised areas, and the price tag for a typical family winter vacation.
They praised the resorts on the list for "having thought of everything families could want or need on vacation. Whether you're interested in skiing or S'mores, an ice rink or heated pool, there was something for all family members," according to the magazine.
"Crystal Mountain was founded more than 50 years ago by a group of local families, and that commitment has only grown stronger through the years," said chief operating officer Chris MacInnes. "We are really honored with this recognition."
This winter Crystal is offering an affordable Pure Michigan Family Ski Vacation, which starts at $219 per family, per night midweek, and $299 on weekends. It includes lodging, lift tickets, cross-country trail passes, snowshoeing, ice skating and hockey rental gear, snowshoe guided hikes, and more. Add the Get Skiing option For family members just learning to ski or ride. It's $50 per person, per day and includes rental equipment and a one or two-hour group beginner lesson.
Book a three-night winter vacation at Crystal by Oct. 31 and receive a $100 resort credit; two nights receive a $50 credit. That's a good incentive to take a family vacation.
