The eighth annual Ski Dazzle Expo comes to Sacramento just in time to get jazzed up and race straight to the slopes. The event, which runs Nov. 21-22, features equipment and clothing sales, resort exhibitor booths, and entertainment.
Exhibitors at the event include Tahoe area resorts, plus gear companies and dealers. New gear and clothing worth $1 million will be on sale with discounts up to 70 percent off retail prices. You also can sell your old gear at the swap or buy used equipment.
The show also features the Action Sports Film Theater, which previews the new snow sports films available this season. Other entertainment includes contests, such as a rail jam and a tire chain contest, which gives $200 to the winner. You can try out climbing on a 20-foot wall, or take a rail slide or ski lesson.
The two-day Ski Dazzle event takes place in the California Expo Fairgrounds in Hall A and B. Doors are open Saturday 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The regular show admission price includes a SuperLift Ticket. You choose the type. Options include a two-for-one lift ticket valid at Alpine Meadows, Heavenly Resort, Northstar-at-Tahoe, or Sierra-At-Tahoe, or a free lift ticket for Alpine Meadows, Dodge Ridge, or Homewood.
Tickets for the show may be purchased online, where you can also get 70 percent off a subscription to Freeskier or Snowboard magazines. Regular admission, which includes the SuperLift Ticket offer, costs $15. Tickets cost $3 for children ages 6-11; children's tickets do not include the SuperLift Ticket. Children 5 and under get in free.
