Northern New Hampshire just got a lot more family friendly thanks to Waterville Valley's efforts to give skiing families more for their money, says Waterville's Debbie Moore.

"It's a big list:  New $12 Sunday kids ticket, kids ski free weekends, family ski lessons, and value and action packed ski and stay deals.  All overnight stays now include ice skating at Waterville's indoor arena along with access to the White Mountain Athletic Club and the free ski shuttle to the mountain," Moore says.

Here's a rundown.

Kids 6-12 can now ski and ride for $12 on any non-holiday Sunday. In addition, $1 from each Sunday Kids Ticket will be donated to the New Hampshire Food Bank.  This deal is not available Dec. 27, Jan. 17, or Feb. 14.

Ring in 2010 January Packages are available weekends Jan. 8-10, Jan. 22-24, and Jan. 29-31. They start at $210 per person, and include two nights lodging in the Village of Waterville Valley, two adult lift tickets for two days, and lift tickets for the kids. Caveat: two adults minimum per room.

Waterville is offering a 3 p.m. checkout Sunday afternoon at the Snowy Owl Inn, Golden Eagle Lodge, Valley Inn, Village Condo, Black Bear Lodge, and Town Square Condo. This is not available during holidays or the New Hampshire Special Olympics Feb . 28.

Kids Rule during New Hampshire Vacation Week Package. This package starts at $43 per person, per night, and is available Feb. 22-26. It offers free skiing for kids, and lodging, lift tickets, 50 percent discounts on rentals, lessons, and kids programs. A two-night minimum is required.

Waterville also is offering family private lessons, and family lessons for first-timers.
