High school skiers looking to jump start their competitive season can take advantage of a concentrated weekend coaching program that includes top training, video analysis, tech talks and more, all for little more than the price of a weekend lift ticket, says Stratton Head Coach Neiko Ranzinger.
Ranzinger is a PSIA Level 3 coach who has been at Stratton for 23 years.
Stratton Mountain is offering its inaugural Stratton Race Camp to students ages 14 to 18 over three weekends in December, Dec. 4-6, Dec. 11-14, and Dec. 18-20. The camps start Friday evening and end Sunday afternoon. They focus on skill development, race technique, gate training, race preparation from dry land training and stretching to nutrition and much more.
"These camps are one of a kind," says Ranzinger. "The athletes will be able to refine their skills, and will learn a preparation to be used before any race."
The camp, which includes breakfast, lunch, and Saturday night dinner, is $250 for one weekend, $460 for two weekends, and $600 for all three weekend sessions. Discounted rates apply for groups of 10 or more, as well as discounts on lodging for those requiring overnight accommodation.
Camps are open to male and female skiers ages who are able to ski most black diamond trails in parallel. Skiers must wear a helmet and adequate protective gear at all times.
