The 14th annual Ski Dazzle Expo comes to the Bay Area in mid-November. The event, which runs Nov. 13-15, features equipment and clothing sales, resort exhibitor booths, and entertainment.
The show features the Action Sports Film Theater, which previews the new snow sports films available this season. Other entertainment includes contests, such as a rail jam and a tire chain contest, which gives $200 to the winner.
You can try out climbing on a 20-foot wall, or take a rail slide or ski lesson. New gear and clothing for this year is on sale with discounts up to 70 percent off retail prices, and used equipment is available at the swap. (You can sell your old gear, too.)
The event takes place in the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in the South Hall. Friday hours run 3 - 10 p.m. Doors are open Saturday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The regular show admission price includes a free SuperLift Ticket offer valid at Bear Valley, Heavenly, Mt. Rose, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Sierra-At-Tahoe, or Sierra Summit. The SuperLift Ticket includes one of four options based on two-for-one offers or free lift ticket offers.
Tickets for the show may be purchased online, where you can also get a two-for-one midweek lift ticket offer for Mammoth Mountain. Regular admission, which includes the SuperLift Ticket offer, costs $15. Advance purchase admission tickets are available at Any Mountain store locations for $12 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-11. Children 5 and under get free admission.
